We grow up believing a story about what success should look like.
Get good grades.
Earn the qualifications.
Find a stable job.
Work your way up the ladder.
But what if that version of success doesn’t actually lead to happiness, freedom, or balance?
What if it’s time to break those limiting beliefs and shape a new story — one that fits the life you want as a family?

When Work You Love Still Doesn’t Work for Your Life

Both of us chased meaningful work. We ran our own outdoor centre — something we were deeply passionate about. It felt like success. But when we started a family, the long hours and unpredictable schedule just didn’t fit anymore.
So we did what most people do: we looked for stability.
We took “normal” 9-to-5 jobs.
It was supposed to make life easier.
Instead, it made it harder.
Redundancy scares, longer hours, and constant pressure left us drained. One of us had to stay home for childcare while the other worked more to cover the bills. We missed milestones, lost energy, and felt like we were constantly trading time for money — and joy for survival.
We had done everything “right,” but it didn’t feel right.
The Moment Everything Changed
Just before COVID, we reached a breaking point.
We realised we couldn’t keep living this way.
So we asked ourselves the question that changed everything:
“What if we could earn a living without sacrificing our family life?”
That question led us to explore online income — something we knew nothing about at the time. It was a steep learning curve, but it offered something traditional work never could: freedom.
Freedom to work from anywhere.
Freedom for both parents to be present.
Freedom to design a lifestyle around what matters most — not someone else’s schedule.
Rethinking Success and the Meaning of Education

As our lives became more flexible, we started rethinking everything — especially education.
We saw how much our children thrived when learning outside, exploring, and asking questions that mattered to them. We realised that the traditional school system wasn’t the best fit for their curious minds or for the world they’d grow up in.
So we took another leap.
We started to travel and learn together — a kind of worldschooling adventure that let us combine education, family time, and real-world experience.
It wasn’t always easy. There were challenges, doubts, and messy moments. But it was worth it. Watching our children learn through the world — not just about it — reminded us why we made this choice in the first place.
Breaking the Old Story of Success
If we hadn’t questioned what we believed about work, money, and education, we’d still be stuck in the same cycle — chasing promotions, missing moments, and wondering why it never felt like enough.
We learned that:
- Work doesn’t have to mean an office or a 40-hour week.
- Success doesn’t have to mean burnout.
- Education doesn’t have to fit one model.
- Family life doesn’t have to come last.
When you break free from old beliefs, you see that there are other paths — ones that give you freedom, joy, and purpose.
